Buxom Babes ~ Ugly Magazine Shoot

To say I was ecstatic to receive an email asking if I wanted to shoot a spread for Ugly Magazine back in early October would be an understatement. I was even more stoked when they told me it would be the very first EVER Plus Size Fashion editorial the magazine had ever had. I was excited, nervous, and over the moon but I was also thinking, "Really? Me? There are so many photogs out there." But I packed away the second-guessing and hopped on board immediately... as in I answered her email within 20 mins of her sending it... hahahha.
So many amazing talents came together to pull this one off. First off, there's Jamee Sailor who is a writer for Ugly Mag. She is the bomb and super adorable to boot. She has quite the eye for styling and is awesome to talk to.
Then there's Jenny, the owner of Buxom Modern Boutique downtown. Not only is her store uber awesome and full of gorgeous plus size fashion items, but she is amazing. She is funny, adorable, and has a great eye for both fashion and interior design. I definitely have found a new friend in Jenny.
Then there's the amazingly talented T'Ann Payne of Boho Beauty Studio. WOW. She is seriously spot-on when it comes to creating the perfect makeup looks. I was blown away. I had worked with her previously on a session that is dear to my heart (my desert boudoir session), and when I heard she was the MUA for this Ugly Mag shoot I was pumped!
This darling lady, Tricia, from High Life Salon just a couple of doors down from Buxom.... she is hilarious and more than talented. Her salon is clean, open, and airy. I will definitely be making a trip downtown for my next 'do.
Last, but definitely not least, is our model, Anastasia. WOWZA!!! She is gorgeous. She is sweet. She is talented. She is a newly signed model and I can't see why she hasn't been signed longer! The way she moves and follows direction is stellar. She is wonderful! I highly recommend her for all your modeling needs, photogs and designers.
Thank you to all. Even though we aren't in the actual magazine, it is beyond amazing to be able to add "Ugly Magazine" to my short list of publications and features.
